A Message from the new Development Manager

In August, Cara Peterson began as the Development Manager. She is tasked with developing and implementing a plan to renovate and equip the Creativity Center.

“I am beyond excited to be joining such a wonderful team here at the BCPA, who are so passionate about enriching Bloomington with the arts.

Recently, I developed a plan for the Creativity Center capital campaign, which will renovate, equip and furnish the building that will provide a place for artists to come together as stakeholders in a common shared home and for not-yet-artists to find their voice while learning the Creative Process. Please reach out to me for more information!

My passion for the arts was passed on to me by my family and ever since I have been intrinsically connected to this wonderful community. My sister taught me how to hit those high notes on a saxophone, while my father passed on his enthusiasm for woodworking. My path to becoming the Development Manager here at the BCPA was inspired by my most recent work in Ukraine. There, I worked with the local city council to help fund projects focused on increasing youth community engagement, including the development of community centers, creativity centers, and after-school programs. My time in Ukraine showed me how important creative outlets are for youth to grow into critical thinkers, futurists, and global citizens. I cannot express how excited I am to have the opportunity to help bring a new creative outlet to Bloomington.” – Cara Peterson, Development Manager
